Lipsticks in all shapes, sizes and hues are a girl’s best friend. We seem to carry them everywhere we go, with an endless variety of colours to mix and match our outfits of the day or to pick a colour according to what the weather is saying outside.
With every shade, comes a personality that matches it perfectly, whether it be your sister, mum or best friend. But have you ever considered what the ‘national’ and most popular lipstick shade is in different cities of the world? Thanks to Heathrow airport, a beauty infographic has been created to reveal the most en-vogue shades around the globe.
50 cities were analysed according to global lipstick sales and gathering testimonials and feedback from Heathrow’s beauty team. What seems like a trivial survey to have conducted has turned into a month long celebration of lipstick with a range of micro-sculptures created by artist Hedley Wiggan.
If you are jetting off into the sunset from Heathrow airport in the next month, be sure to take a selfie and hashtag it as #OnEveyonesLips. A remarkable project it is, each sculpture was created with nothing more than a magnifying glass, steady hands and a carving knife. The most popular lipstick shades have been created, based on London’s Big Ben and landmarks from four of the most popular destinations visited from Heathrow Airport. New York’s famous lady, The Statue of Liberty stands erect in the halls of Heathrow as well as Paris’s Eiffel Tower, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and Shanghai’s eponymous tower.
Do you picture yourself wearing a caramel nude mimicking the likes of Kate Moss and Cara Delevinge or a bold bright red as seen on Olivia Palermo and Gwen Stefani?
