Another weekend has passed and what a great one it was! For the second time in the past few months, I got myself all glammed up with my girlfriends, had a few drinks and headed down to Foundation Bar in Covent Garden, a hideaway worth a cocktail. Situated right outside the station down a small alley road, it is most definitely one of favourite spots for cocktails.
Having been a pleasant weekend in the sun, it was no surprise that my OOTD consisted of my brand new black lace fringed playsuit from Topshop, my Winona Cuff heeled sandals (may I add from the sale!) and my recent bag purchase from the Vintage Pound store.
Neither large or small, the bar extends into two rooms with a quirky underground décor, chained booths and enough space to dance. The cocktails at Foundation are my favourite found in London so far, along with Steam and Rye. Having visited for my birthday and tasting more than a few choices from the menu, I decided to try something different. The cocktail menu is large enough to be baffled with a clueless desire as to what tickles you taste buds. But on Saturday night, I was drawn to the ‘Dib Dab’. Yes – I am talking about our childhood memories concocted into a drink! Having ordered the drink, I did not expect what was to come and what was placed in front of me was heaven in a cocktail.
‘Bacardi superior, muddled fresh strawberries, a teaspoon of strawberry sherbet crystals and strawberry jam, shaken together, strained over ice accompanied by an old skool confectionary favourite on the side. How very 80’s!’
The cocktails range from £8-12 and once you power through one delicious choice off the menu, it’s difficult to stop. Foundation Bar is one of my favourite bars in London and is a hidden gem in the heart of our city.
My favourite cocktail is a Pornstar Martini or Passion fruit Daiquiri, what’s yours? Send in your comments!
