The power of the internet revealed all as Olivier Rousteing, the Creative Director of Balmain was seen pictured with model Jourdan Dunn in a selfie the night before the Billboard Music Awards, with a caption ‘We have some news’. And of course the internet ground to a halt. Attention immediately turned away from the awards and with 800,000 likes later, the hashtag #HMBalmaination was more popular than the stars strutting down the red carpet. Jourdan Dunn appeared dressed head to toe in Balmain for H&M, alongside Kendall Jenner, another fashion sensation and close friend of the director.
Dunn and Jenner looked sensational as they unveiled pieces of the collection to reach in and around 250 stores around November 5 as Olivier Rousteing stays true to Balmain’s DNA and couture legacy. Dunn wore a sweater with gold embroidery and a satin wrap skirt, whilst Jenner wore a longline jacket covered in pearls for a glamorous look. With a unique craftsmanship and jazzy flair for detail, the collaboration was only a natural decision for H&M to add Balmain to its long line of celebrity collaborations.
Balmain is one of the largest and most popular fashion labels currently trending in the celebrity world with the likes of the Kardashians, Rhianna and Rosie Huntington Whiteley part of the Balmain army of followers.
H&M’s creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson added: ‘With its mix of couture spirit and streetwear attitude, Balmain owns a unique style, at once opulent and direct, sensual and energetic. It is also closely linked to the show business and music worlds, which adds another element of surprise.’
Who is excited to see this new sexy collaboration?
