Fashion Explosion Oscars 2015

Oscars 2015 dresses

The 87th Annual Academy Awards may now be a blast of the past yet an aura of excitement and thrill continues to linger among us fashion and film enthusiasts. Walking into the office at Hello Magazine as part of my placement, I found the entire online fashion team had escaped home to bed, having stayed up all night to round-up the best dressed celerities on the red carpet. The night was inevitably filled with haute couture, glitzy gowns and millions of dollars worth of jewellery.

It has taken a lot of refining, but here are my best dressed.

Rosamund Pike

There are no words. What a showstopper and absolute stunning choice for the academy awards. Rosamund was a goddess in this ravishing red Givenchy gown. With a thigh split, clinched waistline and sophisticated make up and and an up-do, you wouldn’t believe she has had a baby only a few months ago.

Jennifer Lopez

Elie Saab is never absent at any star-studded event and this year Jennifer Lopez wowed us all in this absolutely stunning nude-toned Couture gown with a low-cut v-neck dress. Draped in embellished jewels and a voluminous skirt, Jennifer Lopez has finally made it to my best dressed list.

Emma Stone

The red-headed beauty never fails to dazzle at red carpet events. Shining bright in a chartreuse long-sleeve custom made Elie Saab gown, Emma Stone looked sensational.

Keira Knightley

They say pregnant women have ‘the glow’ and Keira was truly glowing in a floaty cream Valentino gown with embroidered delicate floral designs and French phrases.

Julianne Moore

Taking home the famous Oscar for Best Actress, Julianne Moore had heads turning in a custom made beaded Chanel gown. Designed by Karl Lagerfield himself, the gown had more than 80,000 hand painted resin sequins.

Felicity Jones

Deviating from her traditional style, Felicity Jones was regal and elegant in an off-grey dramatic floor-sweeping gown. The beaded round-neck bodice and full skirt was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

Marion Cotillard

An unusual design for the Oscars, yet Marion’s white sequinned Dior couture creation was fashion perfect. The dress had a polka dot layering over the lace with cut out holes. The long train and striking draped back, teamed with natural beauty and slick hair completed the look.
