The first whispers of autumn have commenced lingering in the air as I take my first steps into the real world! With autumn, temperatures rapidly decrease, paving the way for shades of burnt oranges and yellows. Though I haven’t written a blog post in a while, my love for fashion and journalism has not disappeared. Rather I have put all my energy into a three month internship with Run Wild Media Group
Getting the internship was a whirlwind opportunity and so far three weeks have passed and I couldn’t love it more. As an editorial intern, part of the Resident’s Journals and Bespoke magazines, my role is as flexible as an elastic band. The print world is an extremely fast paced and hectic environment, and though I knew to expect it, the deadlines are extremely tight. Saying all this, I couldn’t be happier. I have finally had a chance to immerse my skills into a publishing house who are leaders in the luxury magazine industry. Niche in its own field, their monthly titles are glamorous and bespoke.
Working in Canary Wharf has given me an insight into where the money is made. Though this may come across as somewhat big headed, working in Canary Wharf has truly opened my eyes to the real world. It is a place where decisions are made every second of the day; decisions that make millions. Though I am not quite at this stage in my life, the vast variety of restaurants, bars and shops on offer become my weakness. With Michael Kors, Mac, Reiss and Zara on my doorstep, my lunch time excursions normally involve splashing the cash. Be sure to have a read of my top picks from the sensational, sophisticated and sexy collection that Zara has as part of their Autumn Winter range. Their timeless pieces are this seasons must haves, so be sure to keep your purses wide open!
