November 3 is the official launch for H&M’s hotly anticipated new collaborative line with Kenzo. With just over a month to go, there is a lot to be excited by, having followed in the footsteps of the sold-out Balmain collaboration in 2015.
So what is there to look forward to as Kenzo arrives at H&M?
Kenzo and H&M have pushed our buttons (in a good way only) and teased our appetites after revealing the official campaign images and behind the scenes footage from the impending collection. Like Kenzo’s brand personality, you can be sure to find a brilliant contrast of popping colours and patterns, with a cast of ambassadors representing the brand’s collection, such as Chance The Rapper, Iman and rapper Suboi.
Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative advisor at H&M commented on the new collaboration ‘We can’t wait to share with everyone the world of KENZO x H&M, with all of its creativity, fun and love of fashion.’ The collaboration is a real testament to the brand which was founded in 1972 and will include menswear, womenswear and accessories and is expected to have more than 150 pieces. The menswear collection is particularly drawing; with parkas that have a removable printed collar, jazzy sunglasses and tiger print jeans.
There will also be a collection of printed caps, scarves and bags. Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are at the forefront of the collection, having been appointed in 2011 artistic director. In a statement, they revealed ‘We were really excited. Obviously, we’re the latest in a line of a lot of incredible people. We were like, we’re in great company’. Humberto Leon, ‘we wanted to really tell the story of the brand and of us. Together with H&M, we will invite all the customers and fans to the real Kenzo world’.
