October beauty essentials

There’s no denying summer has departed for another year and the cold bitter autumnal days are upon us. I love summer and everything associated, but with autumn/winter there comes an opportunity to dig into my winter wardrobe and bring out my leather boots, cosy faux fur coats and scarves. Yet, for any girl, autumn/winter can usher in months of beauty laziness; but some of the best products I like to use throughout the winter are ones I find at Superdrug. I tend to splash out on hair care products that are kind to my hair and keep a glowing shine throughout the dreary winter months. When it comes down to facial products, I am selective with what I can use as with any sensitive and oily skin, there are some products to steer clear of.

Take a look at some of my favourite October beauty essentials!

Skin and haircare products

Garnier Cleansing Micellar Water

I hate washing my face with soap, because it dries out my pores which isn’t good for my sensitive skin. It took me ages to find the right face wipes and together with this cleansing micellar water, it removes my make-up if I have forgotten my wipes. It cleanses, soothes and even better I do not need to rinse my face after!

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Moisturiser

This is one of my favourite after shower moisturisers! Neutrogena is rated the number one dermatologist-recommended skincare brand which clears my skin up, ensuring it looks smooth and healthy. Apply a bit before bed and you will see the difference by the morning.

OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum

Everyone is talking about the miracles of coconut oil! It truly is amazing and made with a unique formula, it helps repair damaged hair and cuticles, fix split ends and keep your hair frizz free. Again, use in wet, clean hair and run it through your hair with your fingers. Another bonus – it makes your hair smell delicious!

Make-up

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips & Cheeks

One of my most loved purchases from Bicester Village, Bobbi Brown pot rouge for lips and cheeks is a perfect two in one combination. Blend it into the apples of your cheeks for a subtle autumnal look, or use it on your lips; it creates a stained and long-lasting finish. Considering I have oily/sensitive skin, I also moisturise before applying to ensure it doesn’t go blotchy.

O.P.I Project 50 Shades of Grey Nail Polish

You can now get even closer to Mr Grey himself, in O.P.I’s inspired Project collection! I love this colour as it has a high glossy finish and lasts a long time! No chips, no smudge marks and dries quickly, what more could you want. Want more choice of colours – there’s 5 more to choose from!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil

This double-ended pencil is number one for blending and applying colour! It has a richness in colour and doesn’t bleed or feather. It is so easy to apply and for those dark wintry days, you can finish the look with a strong choice of mascara.

Estee Lauder Doube Wear stay-in-place powder makeup SPF 10

I have two powders in my life; MAC and Estee Lauder! The difference between the two is my Estee Lauder has the power to stay on for more than 8 hours and looks fresh and natural. It is fabulous if all you need is to cover up a few blemishes at the start of your day, for a flawless look.
