Carrie Bradshaw is almost positively famous for her famous blue Manolo Blahnik pumps as she finally married Big in Sex and the City The Movie. Having been abandoned at the alter by Big in a breath taking Vivienne Westwood dress, Carrie Bradshaw sure knows a few things or two when it comes to marriage and shoes.
The real life Sarah Jessica Parker, gave us a glimpse of Carrie Bradshaw when she first launched her shoe collection with Nordstorm in 2014. SJP launches bridal shoes, as a new expansion to her existing collection. The actress-designer has taken inspiration from her on screen character to add a touch of colour for the new collection. From pale mint green to satin purple, there is an abundance of choice to mimic her style.
Sarah Jessica Parker is far from the fairy-tale princess we saw in Sex and the City and having married Matthew Broderick in 1997 in a black dress, SJP told Martha Stewart Weddings:
‘If I were getting married today, I’d likely wear cream, just to have that bridal experience. Now I would want my dress to have an Oscar de la Renta feel, pockets below the waist, a very fitting bodice, a huge skirt, in taffeta or duchesse satin. That silhouette appeals to me because it’s old-fashioned yet can look very modern.’
