My sister is by far the most ‘indie’ person I know. Last year, she mentioned to me that there was a vintage haven at East End Vintage Clothing warehouse in Mile End. To my astonishment, she mentioned that everything on sale was £1 and so this year we decided to go again. Last year’s purchase’s included a number of vintage Levi Shorts and Disney Jumpers. So with Bank Holiday, we plucked up the courage to brave all the other vintage fashionistas both male and female to a battle of bargains!
Having arrived 15 minutes early, we were already in a queue beneath a bridge leading to the warehouse. Luckily, the queue went quickly and as soon as we got in I ran to the bags and my sister made her way to the shorts. With so many people in one place, it could be almost impossible to be polite, yet with some manners intact, we grabbed every possible pair of shorts which looked like our size, tried them on quickly and held onto our possessions tightly.
The sale was brilliant and we walked away with not only a number of Levi shorts, but also three bags, a leather jacket and a beautiful vintage classic sheepskin coat. It was a bargain worth fighting for. With everything needing a good wash at least two or three times, I cannot wait to slip into my new shorts on a hot summers day, paired with one of my three new bags for that OOTD look.
