Okay I said it. Christmas is coming, so now you really can get into the festive mood and not be shouted at! Christmas is officially just over a month away and shopping is in full speed. Grab your Santa gear and mistletoe and merry on down to the shops as Katy Perry oozes glamour in H&M Christmas campaign.
I earlier this year blogged about H&M announcing Katy Perry was to join a long line of celebrities for their festive campaign and I can finally say it has been released and all the finer details with it! Katy Perry has put roar and sexy into the Christmas festive campaign which features an exclusive first-ever Christmas track for the advert ‘Every Day is a Holiday’, produced by Duke Dumont and is to debut Monday 23 November.
The theme for the festive campaign is sexy red dresses, oversized and cosy knits and gladiator sandals (an interesting concept for winter). Christmas is all about imagination and creativity, and the new campaign is nothing short of fabulous! Katy appears as a fairy, bringing to life a whole host of characters from giant teddy bears to gingerbread men. In a statement by Katy Perry, she comments: ‘I had such a festive time shooting this larger-than-life holiday commercial with Jonas Åkerlund, and all of the fun clothes, especially my favourite, the Elfie Selfie sweater. H&M has been a part of the evolution of my personal style since I was 13, when I would start to incorporate fun, affordable pieces into my vintage wardrobe.’
The Dark Horse singer has joined a line-up of high profile names such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Gisele Bundchen. Perry adds, ‘it’s every artists dream to have their own Christmas song, and starring in the H&M campaign gave me the perfect opportunity’.
Katy Perry’s campaign matches her career achievements as she was named Forbes top music earner, above Taylor Swift; scooping a record £135million in the last 12 months.
The holiday collection has vibrant red hot dressed, sequin statement pieces and tuxedos with open sleeves. Mixing glamour, fun and festive spirit is the aim of the campaign and I cannot wait to see it!
